Our Philosophy on Billing
At Paws & Peace, transparency is a core value. We know that grief is already overwhelming—billing should never add additional stress. This guide explains exactly how our pricing works, what you can expect, and how to access support if you ever have questions.


What You’re Paying For

Your payment covers far more than the time spent in sessions. It includes:

✔ Professional grief-support services: Individual sessions or online program support.

✔ Personalized resource: Grief guides, children’s materials, reflection workbooks, worksheets, and after-care tools tailored to your family.

✔ Administrative support: Intake, communication, scheduling, follow-up care, and session summaries.

✔ Secure digital systems: Encrypted data storage, privacy protection, and HIPAA-style confidentiality measures.

✔ Specialty training & experience: Your provider invests in ongoing training in pet loss, anticipatory grief, family grief care, and trauma-informed communication.


How Billing Works

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Debit or credit card

  • Digital invoices paid online

  • HSA/FSA* (if allowed by your plan for grief support)

  • Recurring payment plans (if applicable)

*Please note: Some HSA/FSA plans allow reimbursement for grief or stress-related support services because they address mental well-being. We recommend checking directly with your HSA/FSA provider before purchase due to varying eligibility rules. Paws & Peace cannot guarantee eligibility or reimbursement. Contact your plan administrator for confirmation.


When Payments Are Due

Due at enrollment, unless payment plan arranged.


Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

Cancellation Window

  • Cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advanceNo fee

  • Cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice → 50% session fee

  • No-show (no notification) → 100% session fee

Why these policies exist
Your session time is reserved exclusively for you. Missing or last-minute cancellations reduce availability for families in urgent need of support.


Program & Package Refunds

Refunds depend on usage, completion percentage, and accessed materials.

  • Digital resources already downloaded → Deducted from eligible refund (value prorated)

  • Printed materials → Non-refundable once shipped or downloaded.


Insurance Information

Paws & Peace does not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide Non-clinical Session Summaries. Clients may submit these documents to their insurance for potential reimbursement.


Late Payments Policy

If purchasing services not requiring payment at time of enrollment.

  • Invoices are due within 48 hours.

  • After 5 days → access to sessions or program materials may be paused.

  • After 14 days → $10 late fee applied.

Financial Assistance
Limited reduced-rate options may be available at times. Please reach out if cost is a barrier. We never want a family to go without support.
