Start Here — Welcome & Gentle Guidance
You do not need to move through this perfectly. You only need a next step that feels manageable. The Post-Loss Support Pathway is organized like a gentle sequence of rooms — each week holds a theme, and each worksheet or reflection is an optional support. You can begin where you are, take what feels helpful, and leave the rest for another day.
This page will help you understand how the pathway is organized, where to begin, and how to pace yourself gently during the early days and weeks after loss.
How the pathway is organized
  • Week 1 supports the immediate aftermath — shock, overwhelm, guilt, and the first difficult days.
  • Week 2 focuses on the bond, memory, meaning, and widening the story beyond the final day.
  • Week 3 focuses on aftercare, grief waves, communication, and carrying the bond forward gently.
  • Aftercare materials are there if you need practical and emotional support for what comes next.
  • There is no required sequence you must follow. The suggested order is there to support you, not pressure you.
Choose your path (pick one)
If you feel overwhelmed
Start with grounding, short reflection prompts, or the most immediate support pages. Focus on what feels true right now, not the entire story.
Try: The First Days After Loss or Emotional Grounding After Loss.
If guilt feels loud
Begin with the pages that help you name what keeps replaying and gently separate love from self-blame.
Try: When Guilt Feels Loud or What Happened, In My Own Words.
If you want to honor the bond
Start with memory, meaning, and bond-centered reflections. Sometimes it feels gentler to begin with who they were, not only how they died.
Try: My Pet’s Meaning, Beyond the Final Day, or A Letter to My Pet.
Gentle pacing rules (so this stays supportive)
  • One page is enough. You do not need to complete a full section in one sitting.
  • Pause at the first sign of overload. Tight chest, agitation, numbness, or spiraling thoughts are all reasons to stop.
  • Leave yourself a gentle note. Write one line: “Where I left off + what I need next.”
  • Return when you’re ready. Later today, next week, or much later all count.
There is no falling behind. This pathway is support, not a deadline.
If you only have 10 minutes today
  1. Choose one worksheet or guide.
  2. Answer one prompt only.
  3. Write a closing line: “What feels hardest to carry right now is…”
  4. Stop. That is enough for today.
Optional live support
Some clients moving through the pathway find that a short live conversation feels especially supportive. If additional support would feel helpful, optional phone sessions may be requested during your pathway window by replying to your welcome email.
Pilot rate: +$35 per call
Standard rate: +$45 per call
Length: 30 minutes
Important note
The Post-Loss Support Pathway provides written emotional support resources, reflection tools, and gentle guidance only. It is not therapy, counseling, veterinary advice, or crisis support. If you are experiencing emotional distress or crisis, please contact a licensed professional or local emergency services.
